What is DIMES for DPhiE? DIMES for DPhiE (D4D) is the Delta Phi Epsilon Educational Foundation’s annual giving campaign/competition lasting the entire month of March. D4D honors the organization’s founding and commemorates the impact, leadership and service of our Founders, the DIMES. The acronym, DIMES, uses the first letter of the first name of each founder, Dorothy, Ida, Minna, Eva and Sylvia.
How can my chapter contribute? Chapters compete against one another by donating a minimum $25 for every active member and collecting donations from alumnae, family and friends. Chapters and other donors must make their donations online, through “Give Campus” (more information about Give Campus to come). IHQ expects that every chapter will participate to honor our founders by going “all-in.”
What does it mean to go “all-in?” Chapters go “all-in” by giving $25 for every active member. We encourage chapters to go “all-in” early in the competition. Once a chapter is “all-in” they can focus on fundraisers, family, friends and Alumnae.
How do chapters of different sizes compete? You don’t! The new competition puts all of the chapters of the same size against each other. Confused? No worries, IHQ will release more information on the rules and regulations soon.
How can alumnae be involved? It is not just for collegians! Alumnae participation is crucial in D4D! Alumnae gifts go towards the overall fundraising totals of any chapter they choose, active or inactive. Part of the new competition will allow the chapter that gets the most new alumnae donations to win money toward their programming. Again, more information to come soon.
What will my chapter receive if we win? The chapters (one from every size category) that fundraise the most for D4D (through sisters, alumnae, friends and family) will receive $250 for educational programming, 500 bonus CAP points and the ability to take over IHQ’s Instagram account for two of your chapter’s events (one recruitment and one philanthropy). The chapters that go “all-in” will receive newly branded laptop stickers and a branded phone pocket sticker for every member. Finally, the ONE chapter that gets the most new alumnae donations at the $25 donation level will receive $500 toward programming…and bragging rights!
What does DPhiE do with the money? All the money raised through D4D goes to offset some of the costs associated with professional and personal development programs for our members, as well as establishing education and work opportunities. Professional programs include Engage U, Capitol Hill visits and the International Leadership Consultants. The educational foundation also provides merit and need based scholarships for qualified members. Lastly, our International Leadership Forum is a biennial event that provides both personal and professional development to our members and alumnae,
